Chub Cay to New Providence Nassau & Trip to Nassau by Jet-ski

I must say this portion of the trip wasn’t as comfortable as the past few days. It started out with
only 10 knots; perfect. We were able to sit on the deck for about an hour. The issue was we
should have left 2hours earlier.  You wouldn’t think that two tours would make that big of a
difference, but on the water it does. The winds started to increase coming straight across our
bow.  That means no sailing.  The winds reached 22-25 knots. It beat the heck out of us
once again. But I think we are getting used to it. We couldn’t sit up front today or use the pool
but just the same its a wonderful feeling that you get just being on the Ocean. I used my perch
seat in the cockpit. I haven’t used that in a while but it is a nice place to rest my rear when going
over big waves. I also like to stand up and look over the canvas.

IMGP9704

We made it into the West Bay, New Providence Nassau around 6:30 p.m. It was still a bit bumpy
but a lot less waves.

IMGP9739

This bay is somewhat protected by an area of shoals.
We could see the dancing waves as they rushed along the shoals breaking one right after
another. We were getting a few rollers and Beauty rocked all night and into the next day.

IMGP9745

George wasn’t a bit happy about this anchorage.

IMGP9556

When the waves slowed down the following day, Bryce pulled up our anchors and moved us about 1/4 mile into the knuckle of the bay. It was the best place to be anchored. We Thought it would do us good to get off Beauty and do some exploring on the jet-ski. The ride wasn’t that bad even with the 15 knot winds from the North.  West Bay is one place you really have to be careful around. There are so many shoals you could get caught up on. We noticed some coral head areas that we had to avoid. They are protected. The coastline that surrounds Nassau is very pretty from the shoreline.

We are not sure if this is the new upcoming amusement park or not but this is located at the tip of West Bay where we were anchored.

IMGP9821

The winds were crashing into the shoals just past the point of West Bay.

IMGP9741

Zooming on the jet-ski towards Nassau, we saw some pretty views from the water. These are very colorful resort homes. Nearby do you noticed the dark blue water in the photo? These are spots you will see coral or seaweed and greenish yellow will be coral head. So when exploring you have to be really careful.

IMGP9816

As we approached the area near Nassau where we made our Starboard turn to go along the river into Nassau Bay, we noticed this tower looking object in the water rusting away like many things here in the Bahamas. It appears to have been at one time connected to a resort or something.  Looks pretty cool; hope they save it,

IMGP9812

We now know where the industrial area is in Nassau. What a neat place to see freighters come in to port.

IMGP9751

I have to laugh. When I noticed all these crates, my imagination started to work overtime. I was thinking of different episodes of CSI on TV where you never know what could be in those crates. Eye rolling smile

IMGP9760

As the freighters enter the harbor, they are greeted by two tugs that push them into the docks.

IMGP9771

This freighter is going to be loading and/or unloading soon. I just find it neat to see how they get pushed into the dock.

IMGP9766

Oh.. Yeah This Majestic Sea cruise ship was in the harbor too. She is so big.

IMGP9777

We didn’t go into Pleasure Island, but we road the jet-ski through the marina that was not for the normal boats but for the mega-yachts.

IMGP9794

In this area they load there guests up and take the out to watch the sea creatures in the ocean.

IMGP9797

At Pleasure Island, they prefer if you are a mega-yacht.  What is a Mega-yacht? Anything over 100 feet.  This boat is called SKYFALL. Yes, the owners are James Bond  007 fans. She is 223 feet long. Owners John & Jeanette Staluppi.  SKYFALL is for sale for 37 million; any takers??

IMGP9798

In the harbor many boats come in to anchor and to fuel up. it’s the only place where normal vessels can get fuel.   Yes, us peons..

IMGP9783

We see a lot of vessels that have sunk in the Bahamas. So many I couldn’t even count.

IMGP9802

I see how the mail comes ashore. Email What a big mail boat.

IMGP9803

Due to lack of internet we are a bit behind in posting our post. We have made it to the Exumas and I am creating a post. just don’t know when we will have the internet.

The Great Bahamas Bank Crossing from Bimini to North Rock and Mackie Shoal

After leaving Bimini, we headed North around North Rock. What a spectacular day. The winds and water were perfect. What a blessing it was. I was beginning to wonder if this day would ever come. We had two shoal areas that we had to watch out for. Mackie shoal where we were headed is the 35 nautical mile point. This is the half way point to Chub Cay. I think it’s funny that this area at Mackie Shoal is marked with a tall stick and a no working light. I would hate to be sailing at night. I must say that with the technology of GPS and radar it helps to make a better crossings at night. The Great Bahamas Bank is so pretty and clear. Although, we didn’t see to many sea world visitors on this crossing it was a FABULOUS day. We told jokes and sat on the bow and just enjoyed our day. If anyone of you are reading this and looking for a good place to anchor this is. The water is shallow enough that reduces the wave effects.

This is North Rock from Bimini’s

image

As we motored out of Bimini we where just knock for a loop at the site of flying fish. I was thinking maybe I needed a beer because fish don’t fly…It was just an amazing site.

image

As we were getting ready to raise our sails we had to repair a broken dutchman line. So we fixed it.

image.jpeg

We had two visitors and it was a welcome visit to see them dancing at the bow.

image

It’s is HOT even with the wind. Bryce thought it was time to get the pool out. He knows how much I am missing my hot tub. So if we do decide to get a different boat I vote for a place to put in a hot tub.

image

So this was our amazing day of crossing the Bahamas bank. Oh see our new chairs? Our old ones bit the dust when we were in Marathon so we had to replace them.

We pulled out of Bimini around 11 and pulled near the tall stick with a none-working light around 6:30 p.m. Nothing like sleeping out in the middle of the Ocean (Grand Bahamas Bank).

Looking for a loaf of bread

We decided to take a stroll through Bimini but before we left Bryce met the owner of a Catalina 470 Jim Seemann. What a delightful person he is. Jim invited us in to see the inside if his boat (PipeDream). It is one of the boats that we thought was a possibility to up grade to. Bryce and Jim talked about our route through the Bahamas. We decided to head to town and look for a loaf of bread and a Bahamian phone. Jim also needed to pick up lunch meat so we all headed to town.

Jim and Bryce looking at charts.

We walked into Watson’s Supermarket and asked for a loaf of bread and nice lady told us we had to walk about 2 blocks down to Charles for bread.

On our way to Charles, we passed several more stores. Bryce got a kick out of this one because they had a bit of this and a bit of that but no bread.

I am starting to think this is like Where’s Waldo instead it’s where’s the bread. Okay, my count is up to three grocery stores.

As we continued to walk towards Charles, Jim pointed out the BTC phone store and Bryce decided it might be a good time to stop in it was already 4:10 in the afternoon.  Jim continued to the next store while we walked in to BTC. I noticed a sign on the door. They close at 4:30 it’s a good thing we stopped. Well, here went another 130 dollars on a Bahamian phone just for the internet. We are so excited we are going to have internet in the Bahamas. Bryce tried it out in the store. It works…

Some time later as we walked out the store, Jim was walking towards us. He was happy; he found his pot of gold…(lunchmeat) LOL but still no bread and stores are closed now.  We headed back towards the Big Game Bahamas Marina. I looked around at the local stores.

I looked at my watch and decided it was dinner time. Ah..The Big game Restaurant above the pool area looked like a good place to eat. Bryce and I went in a ordered our dinner. We split a cheeseburger. LOL but I also had a Bahama MAMA drink is was very good.

After dinner we headed back to the boat to get some beer. when we noticed this stingray and Shark swimming. Come to find out we heard they feed the sharks to keep them nearby so when visitor come and want to shark dive they will see them.

Right next to beauty was this shark. Just amazing.

We went back and sat by the pool for a few hours. It was so relaxing. We also spoke with a couple that were staying in the hotel. Nick and Alice; it is so nice to meet nice people.

We sat beside the pool with a few beers. The lights in the pool would change the glow from blue to green. Very Nice

Left the following day for Chub Cay

We Made It To Bimini Bahamas

Wow.. I must say, and I am not afraid to say, that when the long awaited day to cross to the Bahamas came I was a bit skittish. It seems like this two in a half months of waiting was just too long. I woke up at 4 a.m. In the morning not able to sleep. I am so restless… Why I don’t know. We had to have George to the vet at 9 a.m. For his bug test. After we fueled up and watered up, it was about 11:50 when we made it to open waters. It was a picture perfect day. 10 knot winds on the beam. We sailed 5-8 knots. If only it would last all night we thought . I sat up on the bow and was enjoying every minute. Bryce and I were so happy to be back out on the waters.

Even through the perfect weather didn’t last long it felt great to be back on her again. The the winds dropped to near zero, from behind. And of course the rollers remained on the beam. I felt more like throwing Bryce over board. Life is not always perfect! The worst thing was we couldn’t sail; not enough wind. The main sail had to be lowered as it just flopped. A bit of Genoa was all we could use to reduce the rolling. Bryce just wasn’t happy anymore. But life is still good.

Sitting and enjoying our first day back on the water. Here we come Bimini 😎. Nothing but open ocean ahead.

We have been asked how the jet ski tows! Pretty darn awesome. She’s happy to be out.

They passage took about 20 hours. With no wind, we motored through the night to the Bahamas. Notice I said motored: no wind. But plenty of rollers. Then the long awaited view came into site. You can’t see me but if you could you would noticed I haven’t stopped smiling.

We waved to Boaters as they were coming out of the Channel and we were going in.

This is apparently a charter dive vessel. Notice the dive flag. Looks like these three guys are going diving.

Headed to find a place to dock up to so we can go to customs. We passed the locals fishing boat getting ready to go fishing.

Had we chosen to go to the south Bimini’s first, we could of come over by this carrier if we wanted to.

This is a photo where we are staying for a few nights The Big Game Bimini Marina. This is a picture of the pool area.

Looks like someone had a bit of bad luck during one of the storms.

Ok, time to have some fun! We decided to hop on the jet ski and go exploring. We headed up the west side of North Bimini and came back. Then headed toward Gun Cay. As we adventured out and about, we noticed a Hammerhead shark. We circled around it to get a photo. I had to hold Bryce back he wanted to get a photo underneath with the water camera. This guy was about 1 5 feet long. It dwarfed the jet ski.

Well we made it over to a nearby island called Gun Cay and North Cat Cay. Where we swam with the Stingrays. Well I should say Bryce took a swim with them. I took above water photos. Bryce took the water camera and had some fun.
We noticed a vessel anchoring near Gun Cay Bay it was a couple from Marathon. They are from Germany and are having a great time.

This is a photo of me at the time I didn’t realize my lips were burning. Boy does it hurt to smile! I am lucky I found some Aloe VeraGel.

Bryce is swimming with the stingrays. I love this under water photo.

You can see these three rested on the bottom.
You can see his stinger on his tail. It was very important that we didn’t get hit by his stinger.

On top of the surface I took photos. This little guy loved to follow me.
Bryce and I enjoyed petting the stingrays. They like to be rubbed on their under belly. They feel like soft velvet.
Out in the Great Bahama Bank on the way to Gun Cay, we saw a concrete vessel that self deteriorated and I am sure buy the looks of confetti with help from the human hands.
This was actually part of the stern you can see the rudder gears.

You can still see all the different pulleys for the anchor windlass.

 It is so huge

I noticed these birds walking on a rock island while we were jet skiing by.
Homes of more affluent Bahamas residents.
Now this is the good life😎😎

Leaving Boot Key Harbor

The wait is coming to an end Provisioning for the Bahamas have arrived and we have received our registrations. So we are leaving Monday.

After two months in Vaca keys Marathon, it is time to let go of the ball. One might wonder what did we do here for 2 months. It started with the generator needed a capacitor, the mast light had to be replaced, our refrigeration needed to be replaced with an Engel. The boards on the bow holding our cans had to be painted. Our aft nav light broke after Bryce used it for a ladder, and a few more. Our solar panels stopped working all of them. We found out there was a recall and were able to get a full refund and replaced them with rigid ones.  Most importantly, we were waiting for the jet ski and boat registration.

Wow.. They look so much nicer. Great job honey.

Wow.. They look so much nicer. Great job honey.

The dingy had to have the barnacles and scum scrapped off.
Your getting there sweetie keep scrapping 😂

I brought Bryce a horn last year for his birthday. He finally installed it. One of the few sailboats with an electric horn.

We had to have the Barnacles removed from underneath Beauty’s belly & propeller. Looks like a fuzzy prop.

 Nice clean propeller after cleaning.

This is Beauty’s belly just full of fuzz. Need to get rid of this to allow us to keep our speed up.

I love putting my toes in the sand.

Yes, We are so ready to continue with our adventure. The weather window looks like we will be pulling out Monday we are sailing non stop to North Bimini to check in. This should take us about 24 hours or around 130 miles from Marathon Boot Key Harbor. I found this photo on line under photo of Bahamas with no credits.

We had a grand time making new friends and meeting up with old friends.
Lori, Carolyn, John and me. These are our neighbors from home. They all live directly across the street. I think the whole town of Algonac comes to the keys in the winter.

John, Norm, and Bryce 🍺🍺🍺 now we all go on our separate adventures it was very nice to meet up with you all. Be safe in your travels.

Bahia State Park store. We stopped in for an ice cream.

 I like this sand monument

Well, Tomorrow is Monday we will be letting go of our ball D-12 here in Boot Key Harbor. We are headed to Bimini. I am praying for good sea legs……and weather.😉

Our Adventure Through the Everglades on an Airboat

Of course most of you know about our experience on Christmas Eve in the Everglades. I never thought, I would step foot in there again after the way we we’re treated. It was an enjoyable day. I had a great time learning about different species.

But this is how my story goes:

On Saturday, while heading to our hair appointments along US41, we noticed several places to stop and take an air boat ride through the Everglades. Bryce said maybe next week we should come take a airboat ride. We couldn’t stop today because I had a hair appointment in Naples. And of course, the next day was the Miami boat show. It sure was a busy weekend. But I am getting side tracked; back to the Everglades. So the day came and we headed back up to to take an airboat ride. Actually I was excited about it and I was getting over the Christmas Eve incident. We arrived and Bryce went in and bought our tickets; $24.00 each.

I just couldn’t believe my eyes, I saw a few gators. The rush of the airboat ride was awesome. They gave us ear plugs to block out the air motor sound. The engine and propeller was incredibly loud. I have to admit that I really enjoyed the ride. But running over the natural vegetation of the Everglades seemed a bit odd, because in Florida you can’t run over sea grass, coral, sand dune grass and almost anything else that lives.

When I asked the draft of the airboat the young man held his hand up and said only a few inches. We had fun doing spin outs going through the marsh sideways. We saw a number of birds and alligators. They seemed to be indifferent to the extremely noisy air boat.

This photo shows everyone getting ready for the ride. Notice the huge propeller at the rear of the boat In the circular cage. This propeller blows air backwards and causes the boat to go forward, similar to a small airplane.

This is the view from where we pulled off. It is such a pretty view and if you look really close the guide said, you will always see something.

I wasn’t nervous or anything. But it had been raining so I put on a poncho. This was a great ride. We had never been on an airboat ride so we were looking forward to it.

The airboat was capable of going most anywhere in the Everglades. The jet pump on our jet ski would get instantly plugged up if we tried to run through marsh grass like this.

Our tour guide was great.. He was very knowledgeable about the Everglades. He would periodically stop and explain about the birds, gators, snakes and such. He commented on the invasive species such as pythons.  Here is another picture of smaller air boats.

This is a diving bird. I have to laugh; I think this could be Bryce’s favorite bird. He likes to watch them dive and eat the fish. This bird is drying his wings as we drive by. These birds swim underwater as fast as the fish!! In the clear waters, we often see them swimming under water.

I think this alligator is curiously watching us drive by. Perhaps wondering which of us would make a tasty meal.

After we arrived back to the docking area we were told our tickets included a informative discussion about the local inhabitants. We were told the difference between Crocodiles and Alligators. Apparently, most Alligators like fresh water and Crocodiles like salt water. This little guy could grow to be 18 feet long.

I find it very interesting to learn about the gators and other species of Mother Nature

In its natural habitat, the alligator can roam free. The gator was almost to extinction, now there is a limited control on how many gators can be killed. Now the gator is on a rebound from the possibility of extinction. They seem to just lay around waiting to eat. Sounds like our cat George.

This is a cockatoo Parrot very pretty and like George, likes to have his head rubbed.

No blog would be complete without a picture of me holding an alligator. He looks quite happy doesn’t he!! Dang air boat frizzed up my hair.

I had to ask about the Florida Panther because we kept seeing these signs along the road.

I asked the ranger who was hosting the show about the Florida Panther. Florida has 110 Panthers there use to be only 40 but they brought some in and they are mating and the population is growing but the issue is there just isn’t enough room for them to live. This Panther is a stuffed one on display.

The big Cypress Swamp is one of the last homes for the Florida Panthers. It was an enjoyable day. I had a great time learning about different species.

If you prefer to see dolphins and manatees, there are numerous boats like these that follow the Dolphins so sightseers can snap a picture. We watched many of these boats racing through the shallows near where we were anchored in search of dolphins. Twin 200 HP motors on these boats really pushed them along. Two sharp outboard rotating props dropping three feet into the shallow waters seems a bit unsafe to wild life.

So now a short rant before we close this post. On Christmas Eve, we were ordered out of the Everglades because we towed a jet ski in behind our boat. The park ranger said the reason jet skis are not allowed in the park is they are noisy and scare wild life. The jet pumps can harm wild life.
So now the National Park service allows of hundreds of air boats, which is the noisiest boat ever made, run all over the Everglades trampling swamp grass. And they allow hundreds of large High powered tour boats chase down manatees and Dolphins plowing through the shallows with dangerous rotating props that rip apart anything in their path so that tourists can snap pictures with their phones.
I don’t think the National Park Service has their facts straight. So now we have a jet ski with enclosed prop, that cannot cut wild life unlike the tour boats.  We have a newer jet ski that is the quietest jet ski ever made (quieter than most boats and much quieter than any air boat) and little evidence that any noise scares wild life.  And our jet ski cannot go through sea grass or swamp grass (unlike the tour boats and air boats) because it would plug the jet pump in seconds.  So our jet ski cannot go into NPS waters???

Miami Boat Show

The Miami Boat Show

For a city, I really like Miami, it seems to have a lot of neat things to do and a great harbor area. For many years now we thought it would be neat to fly into Miami for the boat show but we really never made the time to do so. This time we are just a hop skip and jump away. It was a somewhat small show; not as big as the Annapolis show we attend in the fall. I just really like walking through all the boats and getting ideas of what my next boat might be like.

We both really like the Catalinas and we like the Catamarans. This show we focused our attention on the cats. Well, we did walk through the Catalinas. Perhaps they will release a 50 something in the next few years. For those that don’t know, the new 425 is scheduled to show at Annapolis this year. Three staterooms, twin wheels, lighter and faster. We got a data sheet from the St Petersburg boat show. Looks like a nice replacement for the old 42.

I have to laugh, we keep trying to get a ride on a cat. But we cannot seem to schedule a ride. So we were told to go rent a catamaran for a week. That would tell us if we like it or not. So we stopped at the Moorings booth to see about renting a cat for next year. $7,626.25 for one week, off season. Sounds pretty steep just to decide if we like a cat. So for now, we will pass on getting a ride.

Hello this is me. I am posing for Bryce….
This is the Lagoon 42 Catamaran. In my opinion the galley is a bit small and not enough closet space.

One of the over views shots of Miami sailboat show. They separated the power boat show from the sailboat area. I think that was a bad idea. If you wanted to see the power boats you had to shuttle over to another Island. It just took too long and cut down on your time for viewing boats.
This boat is the one we like. It is a Leopard 40. For us, it seems to have the best layout of all the 40s.
I would really like to thank Sid Clark and Frank McCarthy for showing us through their cats. Sid was moored a few boats from us on their Lagoon Cat. He showed us the Seawind 1160. Frank showed us the 40 Fountaine Pajot Catamaran.

Key West For a Hambuger & Beer

We took a drive back down into Key West. It was an enjoyable evening; we stop at a local Brewery and had a few beers & hamburger. We had a great conversation with the manager Bryan & our waiter Bryan; followed by a walk along the board walk. We meet a couple Victoria & George. They had a slip in the marina after being anchored out in the bay for quite sometime. It is always nice to meet people and hear about their adventures and where they are from. We are keeping ourselves busy and getting things done on Beauty. I have to laugh, Bryce took the water jugs into shore to fill them. I decided to take a shower while he was gone. Wouldn’t you know it… while I had shampoo in my hair and cleanser on my face, the shower head decided to break. It went off like a firework explosion . Everything in the the bathroom got drenched. So that gives us another thing to fix.

The making of the beer in the brewery:

The beer was delicious

Our walk a long the board walk. Hum…that big boat in the back ground looks like it would do in a pinch…LOL

Look at the dingy doc… A lot of boaters coming in for provisions or dinner.
Yes, he is drinking a “Crazy Lady with coconut”.

A Bike Ride Down to Seven Mile Bridge

I use to sit and wonder what would I do on this trip when I got restless. I am getting to the point that if this weather doesn’t change…I am getting tired of being trapped here. The good news is we are getting a car on Friday and going to the Miami Boat show. We finally received our jet ski title and registration now we are only waiting for Beauty’s new updated registration any day now so we will be looking for our window of opening to cross the Gulf Stream to Bahamas☺️
This is the Atlantic Ocean with two sailboats anchored in her.

I am so looking forward to this Saturday, my wonderful husband is driving me 225 miles one way back up to Naples Florida to Gloss Salon to get my hair done. Nadia Aleksen is one of the stylists. Her work is fabulous💇🏼, enough of my hair. LOL
Hello Nadia, I am on my way back💇🏼 it has been two months already..I must look good in the Bahamas….💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼

Food: We have heard so much about food in the Bahamas. If you need groceries you need to make provisions before you leave. One case of beer could cost $60 dollars. For some reason beer is expensive but they say liquor is cheap. If we are not there when the boat comes in with fresh food you will have to settle for Bruised fruit and veggies. Meats are the same way. Maybe I’ll loose some weight.

A few days ago, I spent the day baking Oatmeal Raisin cookies for my honey. He polished off all 4 dozen in two days.

After, a few hours we got a break in the weather and took a bike ride down to seven mile bridge. It’s the longest bridge that connects to Key West. Here is a picture of the bike and walk bridge.

I think a cloud was over Bryce….LOL the bridge we rode our bikes on use to be a train track. It travels next to the 7 mile bridge. This portion of the bike path is only two miles long. There is a cut in it so sailboats and power boats can cross from the Gulf to the Atlantic ocean or Vice versa.

This is a photo of the bike path…from the Gulf side. This shows where they ended the bike path to let boats move under the 7 mile bridge. Between the two bridges is some wicked current. The tide coming in or out will determine the direction of the current.

Some friends of ours recommend Sunset restaurant right next to seven mile bridge. It also has a pool you can swim in before or after you eat. The food is really good. If you really want to view the sunset it’s the place to be.
But it’s a tad to chilly for me to swim…

A long the bike path, we saw this brown iguana going in to the weeds. We didn’t have our camera so we used the cell phone. It was about 4 feet long.

Local Floura and fauna

Well, as many of you are dealing with snow & cold we are getting more rain & winds. But the other day we were able to spend the day at Sombrero beach. It was windy but it was worth the relaxation. Just as we were getting our chairs in place Bryce noticed this green iguana climbing a tree. We have been seeing them; but don’t ever seem to be fast enough to capture a photo. Wahoo.. the camera was on top of the bag.. Bryce ran over to get a picture of the iguana.  This guy’s body is about 1 foot long.  Tail is another 18 inches.

“The safe thing for me to do is to get away from this human”

“What he is still down there I better put it in high gear”

“Ahh…I’ll hide in the leaves he won’t see me”

Bryce was so excited he finally was able to snap a shot. We were told many boaters in the marinas will find these sun bathing on their boats.

“I made it…..I’ll just wait here till he leaves”

I wonder how many people get hit in the head by a coconut…

I think this blog is going to the birds… This poor girl kept getting dive bombed by these seagulls

I have never bird watched before but I am seeing some neat looking birds

I wonder how many times I have seen this guy…his eyes seems to follow me.

“Um..this is boring think I’ll go back and dive bomb that girl…”LOL

Well, it was fun on the beach.

Walking along the beach was fun.  This Portuguese man-of-war was washed up on the beach. I heard they have one heck of a sting if you get nailed by one.

We see these floating all the time they are some type of jellyfish.

A very Big Thank you to Judy & Steve for having us over for dinner. What a great night it was. Our dinner was delicious.  We met this couple up on the Tom Bigbee water way last year.

Another great photo of celebrating our birthdays: Jane & Marylin.  Mike, Bryce and me.. I might be a tad happy…Marylin, Steve & Judy… It was a great night.  Mike and Marylin just recently crossed to the Bahamas.

Congrats to our nice Destiny who just birth to her son Kentley in January.

A great kick off to February

Happy February everyone woo…hoo.. What a great night night a Burdines. This is my story when we arrived here in Marathon a life time ago. We meet a guy (Ty) who we call Tennesse because he always wears a base ball cap with the orange T for Tennessee.  Tennessee is one of our favorite states. Tennessee works for Book Key Harbor and when we go in to pay our water bill or something we always say hello to him. After talking to him we found out he plays in a band on Wednesdays at Burdines and Fridays at Castaways. Weeks have gone by and we just haven’t made it up to hear them play. The weather has been horrible and they play some what outside. Well, the weather was good and the night was perfect. We made it up to hear the band. Totally unbelievable it was music to my ears.. Cory Young is the lead vocalist his voice is magical. We purchased his first CD (electronically) I don’t have a CD player on the boat. LOL

Anyway soon you will be able to purchase Cory Young’s CD on line from Apple.

Tennessee singing his Chicken song..
